Scrum Master Self Study Plus
A smarter, more flexible way to become a Scrum Master!
Unlike most Scrum Master programs that require two full classroom days, this format is deliberately flexible.
Day 1: self-paced e-learning you can complete anytime, anywhere.
Day 2: an intensive, hands-on practice day with case studies, simulations, and group exercises.
This blend pairs the freedom of home study with the impact of group-based practice, making the program unique in the Netherlands. Note: please complete the self-study before the practice day so everyone arrives well prepared.

Who is the Scrum Master Self-Study for?
The Scrum Master Self-Study is ideal for anyone who wants to learn Scrum in a more flexible way than a traditional two-day classroom training. You can complete the theory entirely at your own pace and schedule, while the practice day gives you the opportunity to actively apply your knowledge, work on exercises, and ask questions.
This makes the program especially suitable for:
-
(Aspiring) Scrum Masters who want to thoroughly prepare for their role
-
Professionals who prefer flexible learning but also want hands-on practice
-
Project and team leaders who want to apply Scrum within their organization
-
Managers and consultants who want to understand Scrum and support its adoption in practice
Important: The self-study must be completed before the practice day. This ensures that everyone can actively participate and get the most out of the training.

What will you learn in the Scrum Master Self-Study?
During this program, you will develop a complete understanding of the Scrum Master’s role and how to successfully apply Scrum in practice. The self-study provides the theoretical foundation, while the practice day allows you to actively experience how to facilitate and apply Scrum.
You will explore topics such as:
-
The foundations of Agile and Scrum – understanding how the framework is structured, the different roles, and how events and artifacts work together to enable transparency and continuous improvement
-
The Scrum Master as a coach – how to support teams, remove impediments, and foster a culture of collaboration and ownership
-
Facilitating Scrum events – such as Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives, with effective techniques to boost engagement and outcomes
-
Guiding teams and organizations – helping them collaborate more effectively, adapt quickly to change, and deliver greater customer value
-
Preparation for the Professional Scrum Master (PSM I) exam by Scrum.org – equipping you with the knowledge and skills to approach this internationally recognized certification with confidence
By the end of the training, you will have both the knowledge and practical skills to guide Scrum teams in a professional and effective way.

Curriculum
This training consists largely of self-study, which you can complete at your own pace and whenever it suits you. In addition to the self-study, there is one practice day.
(Please note: the self-study part must be completed before the practice day.)
Self-Study
The self-study workload is approximately one day. You decide when and how to complete it through our eLearning platform.
Practice Day (9:15 – 16:30)
The practice day is an intensive session where you actively work on cases, simulations, and group assignments.

Certificering
After completing the training, you will receive a certificate of participation. In addition, you will be fully prepared for the PSM I exam by Scrum.org, which enables you to become an internationally recognized certified Scrum Master.
The training equips you with all the knowledge and skills needed to confidently take the official PSM I exam. This exam is optional and must be requested separately via Scrum.org.
